Every folder on Futures has a dashboard. This is where you can add text, images, buttons and embed content. They act as the pages of Futures and every workspace homepage is an example of a folder dashboard.
To add an item to your dashboard, please do the following:
- When in the relevant folder, from the Actions menu at the bottom, select 'Configure workspace/folder dashboard' (or click the four-squared icon at the top of the page)
- You will then see the option to 'Add item', click in the section and column where you want to add your new dashboard item. You can drag and drop items to move them and adjust how many items appear in each column, by adjusting the settings on the left hand side.

Below are a list of all the dashboard items you can add and an explanation of what they do:
Text and Media
- Icon Button - A button that links to an item in the workspace or a specific web URL address. For further guidance, see: Using buttons on your workspace
- Image Button - A image button that you can link to a workspace item or a specific URL address. For further guidance, see: Using buttons on your workspace
- Text and Images - Adds text and or images onto your dashboard. For further guidance, see: Text and images dashboard item

Accordion / Carousel - Two different ways to format information on your dashboard.
- Accordion: Text and or images in collapsible sections. The Futures team does not recommend the use of this item, due to accessibility concerns - Creating Engaging and Accessible Content
- Carousel: Text and or images in moving slides
- Ticker - Text that will scroll across your dashboard
- Countdown Timer - A digital timer to countdown the remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds to a specified date.
- Video - Upload - This allows you to upload a video file to your dashboard, with optional surrounding explanation text. For further guidance, see: Sharing video
- Video - Existing Item - This allows to choose a video uploaded to your workspace to embed on your dashboard. For further guidance, see: Sharing video
- Video - YouTube - Embed videos on the dashboard already hosted on YouTube.
- Video - Vimeo - Embed videos on the dashboard already hosted on Vimeo.
- Horizontal Line - A horizontal line that helps to add sections to your dashboard. For further guidance, see: Horizontal Line
Workspace Content
- Recent Items - Shows a list of items recently added to the workspace. You can define what item types are shown. For further guidance, see: Displaying the latest activity on your workspace
- Recent Activity - Shows a list of recent activities in your workspace. You can define what item types are shown. For further guidance, see: Displaying the latest activity on your workspace
- Tasks - Lists all tasks on the current workspace.
- Upcoming Events - List of events in the next three months from the calendar(s) within the workspace. For further guidance, see: Displaying calendar events on my workspace
- Calendar - Displays a representation of a calendar on your dashboard. If you have a calendar(s) in workspace, dates with events will be highlighted. For further guidance on adding a Calendar within your workspace, see: Creating a workspace calendar and adding events
- Workspace Photos - Shows a rotating carousel of images from a picture album in the workspace.
- Tag Cloud - A collection of all tags assigned to items in the workspace. For further guidance, see: Tagging items on your workspace
- Workspace Information - Provides details about the workspace such as its permissions setting, how many members there are and how to contact the workspace manager(s).
- Workspace Members - Shows clickable thumbnails of the workspace members and or managers. For further guidance, see: Embedding your workspace membership list onto a dashboard
- Blog Articles - This allows you to show and link all or some of your blogs articles on the workspace
- Search Box - Adds a search bar which can search for items in the workspace. Can be set to search the whole workspace or a specific part of it, such as a folder.
Integration
- RSS Feed - Pull information and updates from other sites in a RSS feed - for example, BBC News.
- X (Twitter) - Embed a X (Twitter) Feed onto your Dashboard.
