You can use dashboards on your workspace front page and in individual folders to create icon buttons. These can be used to link to other workspace items, external websites, embed video and more.
To create an icon button and link it to a folder or other workspace item:
- From the Actions menu, select 'Configure folder/workspace dashboard' (or click the four-squared icon at the top of the page)
- You will then see the option to 'Add item', click this in the section and column where you want to create the icon button - This can be changed afterwards using drag and drop.
- Once you clicked 'Add item' you will see the list of items you can add to your dashboard, to add an icon button, select 'Icon Button' from the list
- This will open up the edit panel, in the Label section, add the text you want to display on the button
- Fill in the hover title text, and if required, extra text - You can also change the colour, icon and alignment here if required
- To link to an item in your workspace, choose 'A workspace item' in the Link To section - You can also link to other workspaces or external websites using the 'A specific web address' option.
- Click on the 'Select link target' button and from the list that appears, locate the item you want the button to link to, put a tick in the box to select it and click 'OK'
- Under 'Action' ensure the button is doing what you want it to. For example if you want it to take someone to a folder, the 'Action' should be 'View folder',.
- Close the edit panel and then click 'Save'
