You can add Futures events to your preferred desktop calendar application, whether that be Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple calendar or any others.
Futures allows you to export any event as an iCalendar (.ics) file, which can be imported into your calendar. If the event is recurring (e.g. monthly meetings), the repeat pattern will be preserved. All event details, including hyperlinks such as Microsoft Teams join links, will also be included.
To add a Futures event to your calendar application:
- Go to the workspace calendar where the event or event series is listed.
- Select the event to activate the pop-up window, then click on the hyperlinked name of the event.
- Go to the Actions menu at the bottom and select 'Add this event to your desktop calendar'.
- A file called 'exportIcal' will be downloaded on your browser. Select 'Open' and your calendar application will launch with the event details.
- Check you are happy with the details. If so, select 'Save and close' to store it on your calendar. It will now be an event in calendar application.
