You can lock documents on Futures to stop them being edited by other workspace members.
Documents will automatically be locked whilst you are editing them.
Locks on documents can be only be set by those with the modify permission and by managers.
If you never want the document to be edited, you can change the documents 'Modify' set the permissions: Permissions on Futures and how to set them
To set a lock:
- Go to the document you want to lock. Select the padlock icon to lock the document.
To unlock a document, you will need to be one who set the lock or be a workspace manager:
- Go to the document you want to unlock. You will see who has locked it and when. Select the padlock icon to break the lock. The person who has set the lock will be sent a notification informing them of this.
Editing a locked document
You will not be able to edit a locked document unless the lock is broken. This can only be done by workspace managers or the person who has locked it.
You can contact the person who has set the lock by clicking on their profile icon next to the lock to see their contact details.
