A workspace is a self-contained area dedicated to a particular project or community. Workspaces can either be:
- Open (accessible to all platform users)
- Restricted (can be found in the search and non-members can view the homepage. Users must be approved to join as members)
- Private (same as restricted, except the homepage is not visible to users who are not approved members)
- Confidential (cannot be found in the search and membership must be approved before any access)
Anyone working in an approved health and care organisation can set up a workspace, including:
- Any NHS organisation
- Local government
- Government departments, arm's length bodies, the police
- Research institutions and Health Innovation Networks
- Health systems in the UK home nations
- Charities and VCSE providing direct services to patients
