What has changed?
The data on the NCDR server has been migrated to the Tableau Server. Members will need to login to the Tableau Server using an NHS England Applications (Okta) account first to display the dashboard on Futures.

The NHS England Applications (Okta) account will enable you to access the Tableau dashboards via Futures.
Can anyone register for an NHS England Applications (Okta) account?
Most organisations in the health and care sector can self-register an account with NHS England Applications (OKTA). If you are unable to register, please contact england.itservicedesk@nhs.net and they will help you register an account. Please note, personal email addresses will not be allowed to register for an NHS England Applications (OKTA) account.

How does this affect my current dashboards on my workspace?
Members will be asked to sign into the Tableau server using your NHS England Applications (Okta) account details. The dashboard will then display as normal.
Do I still control who has access to the dashboard?
Yes, on your Futures workspace you can still control who has access to the dashboard. Any new members joining your workspace will need to register for an NHS England Applications (Okta) account to view the dashboard.
Who do I contact if I want to upload a new dashboard?
If you are uploading a dashboard onto your Futures workspace you continue to upload as per the current process using the tableau widget feature provided. Analysts who access the NCDR server will need an NHS England Applications (Okta) account to access the Tableau server. Please contact england.itservicedesk@nhs.net if you have any issues.
What does this mean for external organisations who want to view a dashboard on the workspace?
Any external organisational members who usually access dashboards on Futures will need to register for an NHS England Applications (Okta) account. If they have trouble registering for an NHS England Applications (Okta) account they will need to contact england.itservicedesk@nhs.net.
How do I update an existing dashboard?
The process for updating an existing dashboard will remain the same. When editing the Tableau dashboard in the Tableau Server UAT (User Acceptance Testing) environment this will replicate on Futures. If you want to upload a new dashboard to replace an old one, you can simply delete the old dashboard and replace with the new version.
My dashboard has live data. How will this be impacted?
This process will remain the same as it has been on the NCDR server. Dashboards with live data can be amended on the Tableau server by the analyst who created the dashboard, and this will pull through on Futures. If you are having problems with loss of data please contact england.itservicedesk@nhs.net.
If I sign in via NHS England Applications (Okta) can I view the dashboards?
If you sign into Futures using the log in with NHS England Applications option then you will not need to sign in again to view the dashboards on the workspace.
I'm signed into the Tableau server but the dashboard does not load and I see a blank screen?
If you have signed into the Tableau server and you are encountering a blank screen when viewing a Tableau dashboard on Futures this means that you do not currently have permission to view the dashboard.
Permissions have now been automated so your access will automatically be granted by the next working day. If you still are unable to access the dashboard please contact england.itservicedesk@nhs.net.
